![]() I wasn't a fan of the 'infamous' mortuary episode which I thought was just too bad taste for its own good, but then things pick up with siege scenarios and a great ending that takes us back to the cabin one more time. Kudos for casting Lee Majors in a key role and also for more series references with Ellen Sandweiss and Ted Raimi providing welcome returns. We're straight back into the gore and laughs and demon-slaying which is fine but it felt a little repetitive this time around. Review of Season Two: The second season is a slight drop in quality compared to the first I found it took a while to find its feet and get going this time around. ![]() I'll be cracking on with season two soon enough. ![]() What I particularly liked about this show is that the episodes are only half an hour each so they fly by with never a dull moment. The demon summoning set-piece early on in the season is my favourite part, really tremendous stuff. The gore FX are extreme, they haven't toned anything down, and they're handled really well on what isn't a big budget. ![]() The characters are larger than life and the actors committed to their physical roles. It carries on the groovy comic book vibe from EVIL DEAD 2 with non-stop action, gore, and horror FX constantly thrown at the screen. Review of Season One: I'd been a bit concerned about how they'd handle such a belated follow-up to a classic trilogy but I needn't have worried, this is good stuff.
